Thomas Bert Payne Sr.

Thomas Bert Payne, Sr., 70, of Stanley, passed away December 26, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born February 4, 1947, a native of Gaston County, the son of Richard Thomas Payne and Estelle Hensley Payne. Thomas is survived by his sons Richard Payne and wife Shannon and Thomas Payne Jr. and wife Lynn; daughter Karen Parsons and husband Jeff; sisters, Daphine Osborne, Wanda Huss and Nadine Osborne; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Payne and sister Arline Payne. A memorials service, officiated by the Rev. John Benton, will be held 4 pm Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium Gastonia.
