Thomas Michael "Mike" Elmore

Thomas Michael "Mike" Elmore, 68, of Bessemer City passed away March 11, 2013 at his home. He was born August 14, 1944 in Gaston County son of the late William "Jack" Glenn Elmore and Virginia "Jinks" Walker Elmore. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Bessemer City. Mike was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was loved by many and never met a stranger. He has helped many to go on and become a better person. Mike will always be remembered by his many stories he loved to tell. Mike was a life member and Past Master of the Whetstone Masonic Lodge # 515 in Bessemer City. He was a certified lecturer and District Grand Lecturer. He was also a member of the Scottish Rites, KCCH,and York Rites. Mike was a Shriner with the Oasis Temple of Charlotte and Past President of the Red Fez Shrine Club. Mike retired from Public Service Company of North Carolina after 35 years of service. He and Pat enjoyed spending time at the beach and Lake Wylie when they were not at home with family. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday at First Baptist Church, 107 E. Washington Ave., Bessemer City officiated by Pastor Tom Raven and Butch Ward The family will receive friends 6:00-9:00 pm on Friday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia. Interment will be at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia with full Masonic Rites. Mike is survived by: his loving wife of over 48 years Patricia "Pat" Johnson Elmore; daughters, Rebecca Elmore Wilson, Sally Elmore Waycaster and husband, Shannon; brothers, William "Jack" Glenn Elmore Jr. and wife Gayle, Charles Scott Elmore and wife Linda; sister, Lynn Elmore Teague and husband Bill; grandchildren, Zackery Wilson, Cody Wilson, Luke Williams, Trinity Waycaster, Shannon Waycaster II and Emma Waycaster. In addition to his parents Mike was preceded in death by: granddaughter, Jenna Wilson.
