A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S. New Hope Road, for Thomas Rufus "Alfred" Hudson of Gastonia, who passed away on August 7, 2013. He was born June 20, 1922, to Albert Filector and Margaret Gamble Hudson of Gastonia. Mr. Hudson was employed by Threads,Inc.,and the city of Gastonia. He was also a member of Linden ARP Church, where he served as both a deacon and an elder and was a member of the Men's Bible Class. He served during World War II with the Army Air Corps, 830 Medical Air Evacuation Squadron in the Middle East. He is survived by four grandchildren: Michaele Cook (Carter), Lisa Milligan, Tommy Hudson (Gidget), Steven Milligan (Carrie). His great - grandchildren are Logan Cochran, Austin Cook, Anna Stuart Keeter, Parkman Cook, Hudson Keeter, and Zella Ann Cook. He is also survived by his brother, Don Hudson of Charlotte, and three sisters: Leona Mitchell of Bessemer City, Mildred Rhyne of Charlotte, and Margaret Caldwell of Gastonia. He was predeceased by his wife, Blanche G. Hudson, sisters, Zelma and Violet Hudson, Pauline Stroup and granddaughter, Alice Milligan.
