Theresa "Tp" Gibson

Theresa "TP" Gibson, 51, Of Bessemer City, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016, at her home.

She was born November 29, 1964, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Leroy Purkey and Glenda Dellinger Purkey.

TP was a member of Fairview Baptist Church of Gastonia and a former member of West Franklin Baptist Church. She also loved spending time and taking pictures with family and friends. TP loved to sing at her church and go shopping. She also collected unique pens which she used in her card ministry.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa Lynn Purkey and father-in-law, James "Gibo" Gibson.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 23 years, David Edward Gibson; brothers, David Purkey and wife, Lisa; Jon Purkey and wife, Teresa; mother-in-law, Ruth "Tyke" Gibson; nieces, Danielle Race, Khrissa Williams, and Taylor Purkey; and numerous other Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

The family gives special thanks to Dr. Paula Lundgren at Caromont Breast Surgical Specialists, Dr. Lia Spina at Gaston Hematology and Oncology, their staffs, and to Hospice of Gaston County.

The funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday at Fairview Baptist Church, 1706 W Davidson Ave, Gastonia. Pastors Jerry Millwood, John Crawford, Andy Raines, and Greg Ballard will be officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday, 6-9pm at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S York Rd., Gastonia.

Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church Building Fund, 1706 W Davidson Ave, Gastonia, NC 28052, and to Gaston Hospice, PO Box 3984, Gastonia NC, 28054.
