Thelma Talley Kropp

Mrs. Thelma Talley Kropp, age 83, formerly of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away February 28, 2017.

Thelma was born November 16, 1933, in Highlands, NC, to the late Luther Talley and Hazel Johnson Talley.  She was a graduate of Gastonia High School, Gastonia, NC, in 1952.

She married Marine Major Ronald G. Kropp in December of 1970 in Charlotte, NC.  They later made their home in Vero Beach, FL, where she worked as a realtor and was a member of the Beta Sigma Fi Sorority and a member of United Community Christ Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Hazel Talley, her once in a lifetime love, Maj. Ron Kropp, and her nephew Michael Lee Talley.  Surviving are her sister, Loretta Moody of Charlotte, NC, brother Lee Talley of Beaufort, SC, stepson Roy Kropp (Jane) of Sequim, WA, stepson Tom Kropp (Sherry) of Garden City, MI, niece Melody Moody Williams (Ted) of Maiden, NC, nephew John Talley of Clover, SC, and niece Wanda Talley Cody (Bill) of Pickens, SC.  She had 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 grandnieces, 4 grandnephews, 3 great grandnieces and 2 great grandnephews.

A funeral service will be held 12 Noon Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
