Thelma Bumgardner Gaston

Thelma Bumgardner Gaston, 93, of Gastonia, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at her residence.
She was born September 22, 1924 in Gaston County, to the late Raymond Floyd Bumgardner, Sr. and Lillie Caldwell Bumgardner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Gaston Jr.; sister, Mercedee Goodman; and brother, Harold Bumgardner.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Susan Thompson; brothers, Raymond Bumgardner, Jr. and Darrell Bumgardner; sister, Kathleen Hudspeth; special friend, Shirley Holloway; and fur baby, Mia.
A funeral service, officiated by the Dr. David A, Irish, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2018 at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 South York Road, Gastonia.
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054 or the Animal League of Gaston County, 425 West Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28052.
