Thelma Hudson Costner, 90, of Gastonia, passed away February 27, 2016 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.
She was born March 23, 1925, in Rutherford County, daughter of the late Clarence and Martha Hudson.
Mrs. Costner was retired from Ti Caro Mill in Gastonia.
She loved to bake cakes for friends and family, and was also a quilt maker, having won several ribbons in competition.
She was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, Bessemer City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Costner; brothers, Coy Shoup and J.C. Hudson; sisters, Vangie S. Heffner and Dessie Bingham.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Kenneth Costner (Sarah), Bessemer City; daughter, Jean Allen (Don), Gastonia; and extended family.
A special thanks to the staff of Carillon Assisted Living Center "C Hall", the third and fourth floor staff at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, and to Hospice Cleveland County for the care provided to Mrs. Costner.
A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Fain Farmer, will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
