Thelma Carver

Thelma Lillian Carver, 90, of Gastonia, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

Born on July 21, 1931, in Swain County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Early and Carrie Taylor Cable.

Thelma was a member of Dallas Full Gospel Church. She loved gardening, fishing, bowling, and traveling any chance she could.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Carver; son, Michael Carver; daughter, Phyllis Ann Carver; brothers, Lyle Linford, and Lester Cable; sisters, Louise Carver, and Earlene Wiggins; and grandchildren, Randy Bates, Shelly Laws and Mike Carver, Jr.

Left to cherish Thelma's memories are her son, Lonnie Carver; daughters, Brenda Bolin, Margaret Owens (Eugene), Nancy Townsend, and Susan Ratteerree (Timothy); brother, Lowell Cable; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-nine grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Johnny Yarboro, will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 25, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Interment to follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park.
