Thelma Louise Bolding Mccarthy

Thelma Louise Bolding McCarthy, 89, of Bessemer City, NC passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at her residence.

She was born April 7, 1932 in Pickens Co, SC, daughter to the late Clifford C. Bolding and Odis Geneva Haynes Bolding.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin McCarthy; brother, James Bolding; sisters, Betty Mae McAteer, Jeanette Clark, Rose Spicer and Pam Jenkins; great-granddaughter, Dawn Brooks, and son-in-law, Michael Sifford.

Thelma is survived by her sons, James Franklin McCarthy, Jr., Ronald Steven McCarthy, and Rev. Jeffrey Douglas McCarthy and wife, Ilene; daughters, Susan Elaine McCarthy Kiser and husband Phil, Kathy Louise McCarthy McRee and husband Richard, and Dr. Amy Michelle McCarthy Sifford; brothers, Wayne Bolding, David Bolding, and Mike Bolding; sisters, Libby Williams, Shirley Adams, Sandra Lane, Vickie Welch, and Cindy Carpenter; grandchildren, Jennifer Brooks and husband Jerry, Russell Kiser and wife Amanda, Stephen McCarthy and wife Amy, Allison Honeycutt and husband Jon, Krista Ward and husband Bill, Jr., Melissa McCarthy, Jessica McRee, Nathan McRee and wife Tiffany, Mark McCarthy, Tina West, Hope Schaeffer and husband Karl, and Anna Sifford; great-grandchildren, Brittany Brooks and fiancé Brian Hullender, Kayla Brice and husband Trey, Cydney Pitts, Trevor McCarthy, Averie McCarthy, Donovan Kiser, Samantha Honeycutt, Owen Honeycutt, Matthew McCarthy, Korben Scott, Ayden McCarthy, Eli Rhyne, Ayden Queen, Asher Queen, Kimharie Hall, Mikah Hall, Kennedy McRee, Latifah Price, Bill Ward, III, Amber Ward, Seth West, and Taylor West; great-great-grandchildren, Gavin Hullender, Sarah Hullender, Kohen Brice, Tamaiah Price, and Kyan Brice.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Jeffrey D. McCarthy and Pastor Mike Rice will be held 1pm, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Loray Baptist Church - 1128 W Franklin Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28052 .

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be held at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
