Terry James Walker Sr.

Terry James Walker Sr., 77, of Bessemer City, passed away August 27, 2023, at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby.

He was born January 8, 1946, in Gaston County, son of the late Albert James Walker and Annie Mae Horton Walker.

Terry was an amazing, loving and caring husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He loved to fish and was a Carolina Panthers fan.  He was a huge Elvis fan and had enjoyed his music for years.

He loved to take trips to the mountains, and he enjoyed gardening.

He was a US Army veteran who proudly served his country in the Vietnam Conflict.

A celebration of Terry's life will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel 1503 South York Road Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Arthur Beck.

The family will receive friends 2-3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Walker; sons, Clinton Matthew Walker and wife Brandy, Joshua Brian Walker; daughter, Melinda Ann Hannah; brothers, Jerry Walker and wife Shirley, Keith Walker; sister, Sandra Coleman; grandchildren, Ashley Myers and husband Matthew, Tiffany Hannah, Deany Hannah, Bryson Walker, Dylan Walker, Maddie Walker, Emily Walker, CJ Walker, Cameron Walker, Caleb Walker, Cayden Walker; great-grandchildren, Tyler Myers, Kenna Myers, Haven Myers, Gage Noblett, Alona Noblett, Brianne Noblett, Serenity Hannah, Azalea Hannah.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his son, Terry James "Jamie" Walker Jr.; sister, Linda Beck.
