Ted Daniel Mauney

Ted Daniel Mauney Sr., 77, of Shelby, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023.

He was born in Cleveland County on December 29, 1945, to the late General Marion and Bertha Capps Mauney.

He had an infectious laugh and a warm, welcoming smile. He always left everyone feeling positive and happy. He was always giving and selfless.

Ted was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He never met a stranger.

Some of his favorite things to do were playing Bingo, Solitaire, Yahtzee and of course watching Wrestling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Mauney, Fred Ray Mauney, Clarence Edward Mauney; sisters, Helen Hunt, Josephine Moore.

Ted is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Kathy Sue Costner Mauney; son, Daniel Mauney and wife Lindsey; sisters, Bernice Powell, Carolyn Harvey and husband Junior; several nieces and a nephew.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Road, Gastonia, NC 28052.
