Tammy Hovis Welch, 61, of Gastonia, passed away on November 16, 2020, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

She was born May 29, 1959, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Ray Ormand Hovis and Shirley Leatherwood Hovis.

All services will be private.

Tammy is survived by her loving daughter - Jennifer Pierson and husband Jim; granddaughters - Mahkiya, Brenna, and Faith; sister - Joyce Auten and husband Larry; dedicated ex-husband - Tony Welch; significant other - Jerry Helms; as well as nieces, nephews, and other grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son, Calvin Owensby; grandson, Carson Owensby.

In lieu of flowers, donations to offset the cost of services may be made to her daughter, Jennifer.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
