Susan King

Susan G. King, 62, of Gastonia, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021, at  Caromont Regional Medical Center.

A native of Gaston County, born on June 14, 1959, Susan was the daughter of Mary Coco Godfrey and the late William Godfrey.

Susan loved to care for people, especially her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was being a nana. She enjoyed working in the yard. Susan especially enjoyed baking and decorating for her favorite holiday, Christmas.

In addition to her father, Susan was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Farmer; nephew, Ricky Dale Brown; and great niece, Brianna Brown.

Left to cherish Susan's memories are her mother, Mary Godfrey; husband, Richard King; son, Mitchell Dellinger (Beth); daughters, Jennifer Nicole Dellinger, Stephanie Megan King, and Melissa Ramsey; brother, William Andy Godfrey; sister, Jackie G. Rhyne; grandchildren, Harper Dellinger, Jameson Ramsey, and Jessi Ramsey; and many beloved pets.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service - 1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.
