Susan Elaine King

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Susan Elaine King, who departed this world on May 22, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on October 18, 1948, Susan dedicated her life to her family and friends, sharing her warmth and kindness with everyone she met.

Residing in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Susan dearly loved her sister, Janell Wood; and was a beloved aunt to her nephews and nieces, Wayne King (Nikki), Scott Wood (Cindy), Greg Wood, T.J. King (Christy), Kyle Wood (Dawn), Christine Brafford (Joel), Lisa Browning (Justin); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Camryn King Clark (Brittian), Allysa Wilkerson, Sydney King, Kieran Wood, Jayden Brafford, Noah King, Aiden Wood, Brantley Brafford, and Alex Browning. She had a special way of connecting with those around her, offering support and encouragement that left a lasting impression on many. Her gentle spirit and nurturing nature will be profoundly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Zachary Bardsley, will take place on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Susan's life, sharing memories of her love and laughter.

In this time of sorrow, we remember Susan not only for her passing but for the joy she brought into our lives. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Maude Jolly King; her five brothers, Tommy, David, Jimmy, Joe, and Bobby King; sister, Barbara Wright; and nephew, Eric Wood.
