Susan "Sue" Cotterman Absher

Susan "Sue" Cotterman Absher, 76, of Gastonia, passed away on April 12, 2016, at Brian Center, Gastonia.

She was born September 12, 1939, in Albany, NY, daughter of the late Almon Cotterman and Mildred Shade Cotterman.

Mrs. Absher was a wonderful, loving wife and a great stepmother, who was a very good cook that enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was always there to give a helping hand to others who were in need. She loved animals, especially dogs, cats and rabbits.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Allen Lefler.

The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Absher is survived by her loving husband, Will Ervin Absher Jr.; stepson, Jason D. Absher; sisters, Kate Rood and husband, Jerry, Jan McIlhenny and husband, Bill; sisters-in-law, Nancy England, Sue Lovelace and husband, Hal; brother-in-law, David J. Absher and wife, Vickie; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and a great nephew.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Long Creek Presbyterian Church 701 Long Creek Road Kings Mountain, NC 28086 or to the donor's choice.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
