September 16, 1932 — July 6, 2012

Sue Miller McSwain, 79, of Charlotte, passed away on July 6, 2012 at her home. She was born September 16, 1932 in Gaston County daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Essie Howard Miller. The funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Monday at Catawba Heights Baptist Church, Belmont, officiated by Rev. Max Pendleton, Rev. Ronnie McCraw, and Dr. Alfred Wright. The family will receive from 6:00 -8:00pm on Sunday at Greene Funeral Service- South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery West, Charlotte. The pallbearers will be Dale Robinson, Tim McSwain, David Tomblin, Craig Menniger, Moris McSwain, Clarence "Doll Boy" McSwain. The family will be at the home all other times. Mrs. McSwain made her entry into God's wonderful kingdom to join her family in heaven. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew her. She loved life and will be missed by everyone. For the last 35 years she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Catawba Heights Baptist Church in Belmont. She was a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School secretary, member of the church choir, Director of the 49ers, member of the singles Sunday School class, and various other duties in the church. Sue loved her church and attended as long as her health permitted. She is survived by: her daughters, Sandy McNabb and son-in-law Steve, Terri McSwain of the home; grandson, Tim Hoover; great grandchildren, Christian and Abby. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her husband, Edward Lee McSwain; son, Edward Lee McSwain, Jr.; brothers, James Patrick Miller, Lee Hampton Miller. Memorials may be made to Vision Baptist Church, 7633 Buffaloe Rd. Raleigh, NC 27616 or Hospice of donor's choice.
