Sue Ann Kontak

Sue Ann (Disbennett) Kontak, 81, of Gastonia, after 12 years of illness, went to her heavenly home on Friday, July 21, 2017.

She was born July 5, 1936, in Wood County, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles Edward Disbennett and Ruth (Mundy) Disbennett.

Sue was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church in Gastonia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Disbennett.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 61 years, Robert G. Kontak; sons, Robert C. Kontak, Jeffery Kontak; daughters, Ruth Ann Kontak, Amy Horsfall and husband, Scott; sister, Donna Dickson and husband, Jim; sister-in-law, Judy Disbennett; and 6 grandchildren: Jeffrey, April, Laura, Jessica, Daniel, and Joseph.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor David Belle Isle, will be held 10:30 am on Tuesday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends 6-8 pm on Monday at the Funeral Home.

Interment is private.
