Steven Walter Oliver

Steven Walter Oliver, 70, of Kings Mountain, passed away on March 16, 2022.

Steve was born December 30, 1951, in Knoxville, Tennessee, son of the late TD Oliver and Dorothy Buhl Oliver.

Steve loved his family and friends dearly and will be greatly missed by everyone.

He was an avid fisherman, Tennessee Volunteers' number one fan, and made friends everywhere he went. Steve was loved by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Larry Laws.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1:00 pm, prior to the service at the funeral home.

The burial will be at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sherry "Gail" Oliver; son, Thomas Oliver and wife, Miranda Aycock Oliver; beloved grandchildren, Adalyn Oliver and Beckham Oliver; daughters, Elishia Oliver and Billie Oliver; special friend who was like a son, Cory Knight; daughter, Stephanie Oliver Martin and husband, Teddy Martin; brothers, Tim Oliver and wife, Carol, Jeff Oliver; sister, Brenda Mays and husband, Larry.

The family would also like to recognize Steve's faithful fishing buddies, Cory Knight, Danny Knight, Trystan Knight, Kevin Langill, Ronnie Laws, Chris McClain, Mike Nicholson, Chris Postell, Tyler Radford, and Jeff Terry. Thank you for all the fun fishing trips and lasting friendships.
