Steven Edward Mews

Steven "Steve" Edward Mews, age 66, of Shelby, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

Born on January 21, 1959, in Gaston County, Steve was the son of the late Jimmy and Libby Mews. Steve loved travel, independence, and the quiet beauty of the journey.

He leaves behind his son, Chris Gibson; sisters, Kathy (Mark) Clary, Janet Mews; brother, Scott (Ginger) Mews; along with two nephews and two nieces who will carry his legacy forward.

A graveside service to honor Steve's life will be held on Friday, November 14, at 11:30 AM at Gaston Memorial Park. Pastor Dana Morgan and Rev. Judy Hoyle will officiate the service.
