Steven Joel "Jody" Hudson

Steven Joel "Jody" Hudson, 56, of Ranlo passed away February 14, 2013 at his home. He was born December 10, 1956 in Gaston County, son of the late Zeb Carl and Bertha Waters Hudson. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at Ranlo Baptist Church, officiated by Revs. Matt Thomas and Jeff Gilfillan. The family will receive friends from 6:00- 9:00 pm Saturday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052 and other times at the home of Ronnie Hudson, 48 Rex Ave. Ranlo, NC. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont. Honorable pallbearers will be the Ranlo Baptist Men's Sunday School Class. Mr. Hudson was a member of Ranlo Baptist Church and stood strong in his faith until the Lord took him home. He worked at Rex Mills and Pharr Yarns for almost 41 years. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to his sister-in-law and caregiver Marion Hudson for her dedication and the Hospice of Gaston County. He is survived by: his sons and spouses, Thomas (Apryl) Smith, Adam, Aaron, Andrew Hudson ; daughter, Jennifer Hudson; sisters and spouses, Sarah Arlt, Dinky Blalock, Linda Gunther, Teri (Teddy) Owens; brothers and spouses, Bo (Janet) Hudson, Michael (Betty) Hudson, Ronnie (Teresa) Hudson; grandchildren, Kobe, Isaac, Jaala, NeKayla, Allyson, Hayleigh, and Braelynn; his faithful dogs, Jackie and Abigail; his prize rooster, Kevin; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: brothers, Robert and Charles Hudson; sisters, Susie Hall, Elaine Downing, and Johnnie Mae Owens.
