Steven Warren Atkinson

The Atkinson family sadly announce the death of Steven Warren Atkinson of Rock Hill, SC.   Steven passed away in his home at the age of 70 on August 2, 2024.  Steven  was born in Salem, NJ,  on July 18, 1954 to the late Robert Saul Atkinson and Mavis Lorna Atkinson.

Survived by his family are his spouse, Gracie Tyndall Sanderson from Rock Hill, SC;
brother, Robert Atkinson and his wife Shirley: Seth, Nephew and Sara, Niece all from Independence, MO. Leah (Bilinski), Niece from Seattle, WA. Brother: David Atkinson and his wife Judi. Karin, Niece all from Colorado Springs, CO. Brother: Mark Atkinson. Zachary, Nephew both from York, SC.  Autumn (Proctor), Niece from Smryna, SC and Katie, Niece, from Colorado Springs, CO. Niece: Magen (Hung) and her husband Andy from Charlotte, NC.  Brother-In-Law: David (Mowers) from Raleigh, NC.

Preceding Family Members in Death are:  Robert Saul Atkinson, Father (1984).  Mavis Lorna Atkinson, Mother (2005) Twin Sisters: Donna R Atkinson,  (2011) and  Carol (Mowers), (2014)  Kristy Love Atkinson, Niece (2018) and David John Mowers, Nephew (2019)

Stephen grew up in the South Jersey town of Pennsville, NJ,  He lived one block from the South Jersey Swamps that were part of the Delaware River.  His greatest memories were the time spent on the water fishing, crabbing, duck hunting, and trapping muskrats.  He and his brothers had a boat and would travel through the swamp to the Delaware often for a day of adventure. Steven's best friends nicknamed him "Swamp Rat".
