Steve Norket

Steve Norket, 66, of Gastonia, passed away February 22, 2016 at his residence.

He was born May 7, 1949 in Mecklenburg County the son of the late Jay Wiley Norket and Bessie Geneva Norket.

Steve was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Gastonia.  He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War.  He loved his family and loved the outdoors.  He never met a stranger and will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of over 28 years, Denise Summitt Norket; sons Jason Norket and Seth Norket and wife Tiffany; daughter Leah Norket Jones and husband Allen; grandson Owen Norket and sister Harriett Hethcox.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday at Zion Baptist Church, 2437 Propst Street, Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Leo Kuykendall.

The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel -1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

Burial will be in Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery with full military honors presented by the U.S. Army and Gaston County Honor Guard.
