Stella Sue Hutchens

Stella Sue Hutchens, 83, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024, in Clover, SC.

She was born January 27, 1941, in Cherokee Co, SC, daughter of the late Adam and Olivene Jolly Davis.

Stella was a member of Christian Fellowship Church, York, SC. She was a former custodian at Belmont Middle School and enjoyed gardening with vegetables and flowers. She also enjoyed hiking on trails and staying active. She loved her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Ronald Herring.

Stella is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Judd of Gastonia; brother, Ned Davis; sisters, Barbara Davis, and Lauree Austin; grandchildren, Jacob Lago (Stephanie), Dalton Mullins (Ashley), Reagan Herring, and Kyle, Austin, Matthew, and Amber Judd; great-grandchildren, Emmett, Olivia, and Nevaeh Judd, Makenzie, Jacob, Alana, and Charley Lago, and Clarklyn, Miles, and Mason Mullins.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm, Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

A graveside service officiated by Rev. Ray Shuford, will be held 11:00am, Monday, July 29, 2024, at Chester Memorial Gardens, Chester, SC.
