Stanley Richard Gass, Sr.

Stanley Richard Gass Sr., 89, of Mt. Holly, NC, passed away April 14, 2022, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 11, 1933, of Oswego Co., NY, to the late Warren Ward and Fern Morey Gass.

Stanley was an U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was an avid sports fan, always pulling for his 49er's, Giants, and Braves. He loved being outdoors working in his yard, planting his flowers, feeding his birds and squirrels, and just watching Mother Nature's beauty with his fur buddy, Bunny. He was of strong faith and a devout Christian who loved spending time with his family and loved ones.

In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Ora May; siblings, Warren Gass, Jr., Arthur Gass, Buddy Gass, and Shirley Yocum; and children, Debra Lynn Gass, Betty Louise Lopez, Bonnie Lee Gass, and Roxann Dominguez.

Stanley is survived by his children, Rhonda Orozco, Stanley "Rick" (Michelle) Gass, Sharon Bernabe, Shelli Chavarria, Daniel (Melissa) Gass, Laura (Buddy) Brannon; sister, Ann (Jacob) Dunfrey; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Dione), Alex (Monika), Tina (Marco), Nicky Joe (Gela), Rosalinda, Tony, Jesse, Sissy, Chris (Mitzi), Larry, Ramon, Tammy, Ling-Ling, Bobby, Amber (Todd), Mickey (George), Trevor (Annabelle), Joey, William, Becca, Samantha, Bianca, Payton, Jared, Patrick (Marissa), Sheaynne, Damien, Jacob, and Jax; 52 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life officiated by Rev. Johnny Yarboro, will be held 11am on Friday, May 27, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 South York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.
