Sonja "Lynn" Melton

Sonja "Lynn" Melton, 60, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, at Caromont Regional medical center in Gastonia.

She was born March 2, 1956, in Cleveland County, daughter of Mildred Martin Melton and the late Eugene Barrett.

Lynn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was employed at Wix Filtration for 36 years.

Along with her mother, left to cherish her memories are her husband, Larry Melton; son, Dean Wilder (Christy); daughters, Amy Wooten (Jesse) and Angela Swanson (Joel); and 6 grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held 3:30pm on Wednesday, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd, Gastonia. Rev. Dickie Spargo will be officiating.

The family will receive friends, starting at 2pm, before the service at the funeral home.
