Shirley P. Summitt

Clover, SC Shirley P. Summitt, 67, passed away September 20, 2013 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. She was born July 12, 1946 in Waynesville, NC, daughter of the late Anderson and Bonnie Louise Lanning Parker. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia officiated by Rev. Marvin Carson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Gastonia. Mrs. Summitt is survived by: her loving husband of 50 years, David Lee Summitt; sons, Daniel Lee Summitt Sr. and wife Barbara, Scott A. Summitt; brother, Jack Parker; sister, Barbara Greene; grandchildren, Daniel Jr., John, Matt, Aaron, CJ, Kristen, Stephanie, and Amanda; great grandchildren, Maddie, Cale, Paislea, Allen, and Kaylee. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her brother, Dean Parker; sister, Betty Parker; brother in law, Kenneth Greene; sister in law, Lucy Mae Parker. In lieu of flowers the family request donation be made to First Free Will Baptist Church, 308 Valley Ave., Clover, SC 29710.
