Shirley Murray Robinson

Shirley Murray Robinson, 88, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Friday, December 27, 2024, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Gaston County on May 10, 1936, to the late Robert F. Murray Sr. and Lela Honeycutt Murray.

Shirley was a loving Mother, Mawmaw, Nana and Wife to a man she thought the world of for many years and so on after his death in 2008. She missed him dearly. She loved spending time with family and making memories. She always offered a shoulder to cry on, and ear for listening and a hug when needed. She enjoyed sewing, puzzles and shopping. She attended all of her grandkid's special moments, school functions, etc. She loved her family and took pride in everything she did for them. She retired from Curtain & Drapery in Gastonia as a drapery seamstress.

Though we grieve her loss we are blessed to carry her within us. Her love lives on in the values she instilled, the laughter she shared, and the lessons she taught us. She will forever be missed. We love you!

In addition to her parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond G. Robinson; son, Timothy C. Robinson; sisters, Pauline E. Murray Ramseur, Myrtle I. Murray Rothenberg, Ruth Morgan; brother, Robert F. Murray Jr.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Allen D. Robinson, Billy Robinson; granddaughter, Amy Robinson Shafer (Greg); great-granddaughters, Alexis V. Russo (Strato), Shiann D Barrett; great-grandson, Nathan R. Shafer; great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Mae Russo; former daughter-in-law, Barbara Lanier Robinson.
