Shirley Lee Melton

Shirley Lee Melton, 80, of Kings Mountain, passed away January 17, 2024, at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC.

She was born June 5, 1943, in Cleveland County, daughter of the late Jay Moss and Eva Leigh Moss.

Shirley was a member of A New Beginning Baptist Church in Blacksburg, SC, where she loved to sing in the choir.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She loved all her grandbabies deeply and enjoyed spending time with them.

She enjoyed doing crafts and making ceramics so much that several years ago she owned and operated her own shop which was called Lakeside Ceramics.

A memorial service will be held Noon Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Bethlehem Baptist Church 1017 Bethlehem Road Kings Mountain, officiated by Pastor Steve Taylor.

The family will receive friends 11-Noon prior to the service at the church.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Brooke Melton (Tyler Williams); brothers, Reggie and Edward Moss; great-grandchildren, Annaleigha Jackson, Deacon Jackson, Alec Melton, Gracin Melton, Alannah Williams; special friend, Sissy Toney.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, David Melton; son, Jeff Melton; brothers, Carl and JD Moss; sister, Martha Ann Moss.
