Shirley Jean Kerr

Shirley Jean Kerr, 61, passed away February 20, 2018 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

She was born June 4, 1956, a native of Gaston County, the daughter of the late Johnny Mae Faile Jr. and Alma Head Faile.

Shirley was a 9-year lung cancer survivor who fought with strength, courage and a faith like no other.  She was very loving and kind and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Kenneth Lee Kerr; son Adam Kerr and wife Stacey; daughter Cristina Gourley and husband Anthony; brother Terry Faile and wife Rebecca; sister Joanne Crow and husband Dennis; grandchildren, Caleb, Hunter, Cadence, Matthew and Savanna and many special family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry and Johnny R. Faile.

A celebration of life service will be held 3 pm, Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Greene Funeral Service – West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends 2 – 3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
