Shirley Knight Ingram, 87, of Gastonia, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Peak Resources, Shelby.
She was born September 11, 1933, in Union Co. daughter of the late Jackson Arnold Knight and Annie Jane Hooks Knight.
Shirley joined South Gastonia Church of God when Bro. Ray Collins was pastor and stayed a member until she went to her heavenly home. She taught the little girl's Sunday school class and then later, taught the young married couple's class. She loved her church very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ingram; sons, Eric Eugene Ingram and Charles Michael Ingram; great grandson, Charles Peterson; brothers, Clarence, Winfred, Arnold, Albert, Van, and Charlie Knight; sisters, Edna Wilson and Kathleen Helms.
Left to cherish her memories are her grandchildren, Tabatha Bruce, Chris Ingram, Patrick Ingram, Stacey Busshart; great grandchildren, Daniel Peterson, Kendra Bartz, Finley Busshart; great, great grandchildren, Mason, Zane, Audrey, Xavier, and Novali.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 1:00 pm, at South Gastonia Church of God, 310 Carolina Ave. Gastonia, NC 28052. Pastor Bobby Gilley and Rev. Sam Barnette will be officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
