Shirley Waldroup Erwin

Shirley Waldroup Erwin, 72, of Gastonia, passed away March 24, 2014, at her residence. She was born November 18, 1941, Graham County, daughter of Edith Waldroup and the late, William Pearlie Waldroup. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed making crafts. A graveside service will be held at Gaston Memorial Park at 1pm on Friday, officiated by the Rev. Frank Hoyle. Visitation will be held 6 - 8 pm on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. Shirley is survived by: her mother, Edith Phillips Waldroup; her loving husband of 55 years, Oscar Erwin; son, Gary Erwin and wife, Carol; daughters, Sonya Erwin Lackey and husband, Ted, Sherry Erwin Ward and husband, Daniel; brothers, Lewis Waldroup, Eugene Waldroup; sisters Phyllis Ramey, Brenda Bailey, Carolyn McLemore, Tammy Surrette; grandchildren, Christopher and Chad Lackey, Crystal Maney, Christy Moore, Matthew Erwin, Heather Ward; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Gavin Moore, Levi and Jaida Lackey, Zerick and Kyler Maney and Madison and Haleigh Lackey. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Greg William Erwin and brother, Harold Waldroup. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
