Shirley Canipe
August 20, 1937 — December 26, 2020
Shirley Yvonne Canipe, 83, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020, at her residence.
A Gaston County native, she was born August 20, 1937, daughter of the late Willard and Sadie Glance.
She was a member of Living Word Tabernacle in Gastonia.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, James Canipe; grandchild, Brantley "Jaylen" Detter; and six brothers and sisters.
Shirley is survived by her sons, James "Michael" Canipe and Eddie Canipe; daughters, Patsy Mathis, Tracy Canipe, Tereska Harrell and husband Jay; brother, Wayne Glance; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her most precious friend/sister-in-law, Libby Glance.
A celebration of life will be held at the residence at a later date.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
