Shirley Hauck Anderson, 82, of Vale, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 14, 1944, in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Charles E. Hauck and Pauline E. Hauck. She is preceded in death by her husband, William R. Anderson; her son, Alan W. Anderson; her daughter-in-law, Jeannie Anderson; and her brothers, Willard Hauck and Glen Hauck.
Shirley graduated from Lewisburg High School in 1964. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who cherished her family above all else. Her love, strength, and kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and found comfort and strength in her faith throughout her life.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jennifer Sutley (Richard) of Vale, North Carolina, and Lynn Ledbetter (Jamey) of Lawndale, North Carolina; sister, Linda Harris (Bill) of Morganton, North Carolina; her brothers, Dale Hauck (Nancy) of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and Roy Hauck (Cheryl) of Broad Brook, Connecticut; her sisters-in-law, Pam Hauck and Pat Hauck of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Shirley will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her caring heart, her strong faith, and the many cherished memories she created throughout her life. She found joy in spending time with those she loved and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Gastonia, North Carolina, Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 4:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A celebration of life and burial will also be held at United in Christ Lutheran Church in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Friday, October 9, 2026, 3:00 PM, with a visitation before the service, and a graveside afterward where Shirley will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, William.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who provided care, support, and friendship during Shirley's final days.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
