Sherry Quilliams

Sherry Christine Quilliams, born on October 29, 1953, in Gastonia, NC, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026 at Peak Resources, Cherryville. She dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a Home Health worker, embodying the compassion and commitment that is so vital in the health care field.

Sherry was a beloved member of the New Hope Church of God Gastonia, where she found joy in her faith and a strong community. She cherished her church family and was known for her warm spirit and unwavering support of those around her.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Gina Cook (Richard), her son, Melvin Brooks Jr., her loving mother, Lois Montenegro; grandchildren, Nate Cook (Hannah), Nick Cook (Macy), Cheyenne Harris (Jake), Brandi McCraw (Tyler Dellinger), and Blake McCraw (Kalin Tench); great grandchildren, Olivia, Oliver, Cohen and Hadley Cook, Lawson Dellinger and Raeleigh McCraw; sister, Teresa Walker; and many nieces and nephews. Sherry adored her grandchildren and took immense joy in being a great grandmother, finding her greatest happiness in her family, who meant everything to her.

The funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at New Hope Church of God with a burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at the church, prior to the service.

Sherry was preceded in death by her husband William Hank Quilliams; father Shirley Charles McCraw; son, Rodney McCraw; and sister, Vickie Weege.
