Sherry Renee Clancy

Sherry Renee Clancy,73, born July 29th 1952, passed away at her residence November 17th, 2025. She was born the daughter of the late Grady Earl Carpenter and Mary Alice Rogers.

She is survived by her husband, Chuck Clancy of Gastonia, and her daughter Dana and her husband Benji who she considered her own son. Her siblings, Mike Carpenter of Charlotte NC and Christy Carpenter Hayes of Myrtle Beach, NC.

She had two grandsons who she adored, Ben (Cary) and Jacob Turner and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two sons Adrian and Brett Clancy and sister Karen Carpenter.

Sherry was known for her kindness and her tenacity. She also had a smile that would light up a room. She was a self proclaimed mama's girl who enjoyed the simple things in life. She had a long career at John Deer (formally Homelite) where she had many work friends that she loved.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd at 12pm at Friendship Baptist Church - 5008 S. New Hope Rd, Belmont, NC. It will be officiated by Rev. Jan with a special prayer and song from a good family friend Jay McClure.
