Sherman "Tootie" Thomas, Jr.

Sherman "Tootie" Thomas, Jr., 70, of Dallas, NC, departed this life Monday, August 21, 2023, at his home.

He was born May 21, 1953, in Washington, DC, son of the late Ozell and Sherman Thomas, Sr.

Sherman was a veteran of the US Army, and a member of Temple Baptist Church, Gastonia. He loved to entertain, to make people laugh, and to sing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shelly Thomas; brothers, Willie Robert Walton, Dennis Walton, and Ronnie Walton; and sister, Delores Ann Thomas; sister-in-law, Samantha K. Thomas; and nephew, Elijah Dean Thomas.

Left to cherish his precious memories are his brothers, Cornell Thomas (Tracy), and Nathaniel Thomas (Sheila); and sister, Gwendolyn Walton.

A celebration of life service officiated by Rev. Tracy Thomas, will be held 1pm, Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Temple Baptist Church – 701 Little John St., Gastonia.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
