Shelley Arliss Lecher

Shelley Arliss Lecher, 65, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023, at her home of 35 years, just a few feet away from one of her favorite places to spend time with the people she loved to laugh with the most (the carport, her own version of her mother's damn porch.

She was born February 9, 1958, the 6th of 8 children and the 2nd of 2 daughters, in Wayne Co, NY, the daughter of the late William and Ella Arliss. She was a timeless beauty, becoming Miss Clyde in 1976 and continued to hold the most perfect grace, skin, and smile for the entirety of her lifetime.

Shelley loved Jesse, her dogs, granddog, daughters, and grandson, in that order. She was the biggest Carolina Panther fan, EVER! She would never turn down an invitation to the beach, lake, or anywhere outside soaking up the abundance of life and laughter. She lived life to the fullest and was the hardest worker and best listener anybody ever met.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Lecher, who adored her for 40 years and whose personalities complimented each other's in all the best ways.

Shelley is survived by her daughters, Lezlie Lecher (fiancé Christopher Leeper), Amanda Lecher; grandson, Dylan Goss; sister, Ida Hartman; brothers, Fred Arliss, Roger Arliss (Polly), Larry Arliss (Denise), Bill Arliss (Sue), Randy Arliss (Leslie), and Philip Arliss (Bobbi Jo); and countless nieces, nephews, and extended non-blood related (but equally loved) family members.
