Shelby Jean Jones Browning

Shelby Jean Jones Browning, 84, of Dallas, passed away on December 6, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

She was born October 9, 1937, in Jackson County, NC, daughter of the late Robert Jones and Ethel Bryson Jones.

She was a member of Charity Baptist Church in Gastonia.

"Mama Jean" was a loving, caring and devoted mama who became a mama to all she knew.

The love of her life, John Browning, remained so from the second grade until her promotion to glory.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, December 10, 2021, at Charity Independent Baptist Church, 2425 Hillmont Street, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Ronnie Pressley.

The family will receive friends 6 -8 pm Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont.

Mrs. Browning is survived by her daughters, Beverly Anders, Sandra McAlister (Carl), Teresa Snyder (Larry), Janet Kale (Rodney), Kim Wiggins (Tony); brother, Clifton Jones (Annie Jo); grandchildren, Jonathan Anders, Jessica Thomas, Brandon Wiggins, April Swink, Graham Wiggins, Walker Wiggins; great-grandchildren, Dalton Anders, Bella Thomas, Gemma Thomas, Harper Wiggins, Luke Wiggins, Gabe Wiggins, Tyler Wiggins, Abel Wiggins, Tyler Swink, Abby Swink; great-great-grandchild, Liam Swink.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Browning; brothers, Ed, Doug and JR Jones.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, Gastonia.
