Shelba "Jean" Bailey

Shelba "Jean" Bailey, 84, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at her residence.

She was born July 20, 1939, in Lincoln Co, NC, daughter of the late Lloyd Canipe and Martha Sneed.

Jean was an avid race car enthusiast, and loved Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. She adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, the presences of them lit up her face.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott Woodie; daughter, Taltah Cooke; sister, Neva Jo Parham; granddaughter, Kimberly Owens; and grandson, Jeffery Cooke.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Bobbie Shepherd (Danny), and Patricia Owens; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service officiated by Rev. Mitch Bolin, will be held 2pm, Friday, January 12, 2024, at Gaston Memorial Park - 1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054.
