Sheila Dale Shields

Sheila Dale Shields, 43, passed away October 24, 2014, at Carolina Medical Center. She was born September 24, 1971, in Gaston County, daughter of Roger Dale Hooper and Pamela Meeks Smith. Mrs. Sheila was a loving, wonderful mother and lived for her husband and children. She loved her family and was very close to them. Sheila was a daddy's girl and loved her siblings. She enjoyed reading and loved animals. She is survived by husband, Brian Shields; children, Ciarra Shields, Chelsea Shields, and Cameron Shields of Gastonia; Parents, Roger and Pam Hooper of Kings Mountain, Pam and Gary Smith of Gastonia; brother, Eric Hooper and Amy Blackburn of Gastonia; aunts, Freida Fredell, Phyllis Hembree, Barbara Bowman; uncle, Eddie Meeks; nieces and nephews, Shane Blackburn, Haley Hooper, Kylie Hooper; mother-in-law, Becky Zimmerman; father-in-law, Ralph Shields; and many cousins. She is preceded in death by grandmother, Britta Lee Hooper. A funeral service will be held 2pm on Tuesday at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiating Rev. Scott Shields. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700 New York, New York 10006. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
