We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Sheila Annette Stillwell Barnard, who left us far too soon on April 9, 2026, at the age of 63. Sheila was born on February 28, 1963, in Gaston county, North Carolina and spent her life spreading love and laughter, especially in her cherished hometown of Dallas, NC.
A devoted caregiver by nature, Sheila poured her heart into caring for others. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion. Her family meant everything to her, and she had a special place in her heart for her beloved pets-her faithful dogs Nova and Delilah, and her beloved cat Mighty.
For those who knew and loved Sheila, she was a source of joy and humor. She had a knack for making gatherings brighter with her infectious laughter and warm spirit. Her legacy of love will surely be cherished by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Left to cherish her memories are her fiance, Robert Voigt Sr; son, Robert Stillwell; daughters, Jessica Jones (Nate) and Laura Lytle (Billy); grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, Destiny, Simara, Jamie, Janie, Kyleigh, Charlie, Ryleigh, Stella, Autumn, and Riley; sister in law, Michelle Christenbury; brother, Mark Stillwell; sister, Pat Lunsford.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Francis Stillwell; daughters, Heather Teague and Melissa Teague; brother, Timmy Stillwell.
Family and friends are invited to join us for a gathering of friends and family to celebrate Sheila's life on May 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Martha Rivers Park, 1515 Neal Hawkins Road, Gastonia, NC, Shelter #2.
Let's come together to remember Sheila for all the joy she brought into our lives. She will be dearly missed, but her light will continue to shine in our hearts.
