Sharon Laura Padgett

Sharon Laura Padgett of Gastonia, NC passed away Dec. 20th, 2020 of congestive heart failure at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.  She was 68 years old.

Sharon leaves behind 2 daughters, Pam Joyce of Gastonia and Denise Brown of Belmont, NC.  And her partner of 38 years Robert Dover.  She also leaves behind 4 grandsons and one great - grandson.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marie Cavender and parents Woodrow "Mutt" Padgett and Margaret Padgett.

Sharon was known for her sense of humor, unconventionality, and kindness to others.  She worked as a machine operator for Wix Filters for 20 years, before following in her father's footsteps to work as a mechanic.

Sharon was a strong, self - sufficient woman and she raised her three daughters to be the same.  At different points in her life, she enjoyed painting, organic gardening, baking, nature, bird watching and especially camping and always reading.

Sharon was a woman that loved her family and was well loved by them and will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Monday, December 28, 2020, at Westview Gardens, 1123 Edgewood Road, Bessemer City.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
