Sharon Payne Darby

Gastonia, NC Sharon Payne Darby, 66, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012. She was born August 5, 1946 in Gaston County, daughter of the late Clyde Payne and Pansy Wesson Helton. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family says she was born to shop, which was her favorite past time. A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Jerry Millwood. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery. She is survived by: her loving husband of 26 years, Terry Darby; son, Robert Hunter McMillan of Gastonia; daughters, Angela McMillan Maney and her husband, Mark of Lowell, Kristen Darby of Charlotte; brother, Tommy Payne and his wife, Elaine of Cherryville; grandchildren, Joey McMillan, Steven McMillan, Stephanie Nealy, Jeremy Hambrick; great grandson, Luke McMillan.
