Shannon Brittain

Shannon Renee Brittain, 40, life-long resident of Gastonia, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 while on vacation at Holden Beach. She was born, September 5, 1974, daughter of Donald and Glenda Brittain. Shannon was a member of United Baptist Church. She was a graduate from Ashbrook High School; Meredith College with a Bachelor's degree in psychology; Gaston College with an Associate's Degree in Nursing and a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing with honors from Queens University. In addition to her parents she is survived by her brother, Travis Brittain of Gastonia. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Marcus and Ollie Chandler and paternal grandparents, Ira and Lucille Brittain. Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: United Baptist Church, 1970 Lowell Bethesda Rd., Gastonia, NC 28056.
