Sarah Reinhardt Newton

Gastonia, NC - Sarah Reinhardt Newton, 100, of Gastonia, passed away February 25, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 7, 1913 in Edgemoor, SC daughter of the late William Lineberger and Ila Reinhardt. She was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Gastonia. Sarah was appointed to the advocacy committee for nursing homes by the Gaston County Commissioners. She had a long career as a nurse in many capacities around Gaston County. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Friday at First Baptist Church of Gastonia, 2650 Union Rd., Gastonia, North Carolina 28056. Visitation will follow in the church parlor. Interment will be private. Sarah is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sharon Newton; grandchildren, Jeff Newton, wife, Lynda and their children, Courtney and Tyler, Jason Newton, wife Tania and their children, Eric and Joel and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends, John and Judy Cannon. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Courtland Terrace for all their love and support. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, CW "Buck" Newton, son, Bill Newton, brothers, Jim, Fritz and JW Reinhardt and sister, Bese R. Simpson.
