Sarah Jane Jones

Sarah Jane Jones, 68, of Gastonia, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

She was born on September 28, 1952, in Gaston County, NC, to the late Robert Marvin and Vey Johnson.

Sarah was a very loving mother and grandmother. She was a gifted cook and baker. Sarah was a retired cosmetologist.

In addition to her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by her husband, Ted "Sarge" Jones; daughter, Marni Etherton; sister, Ruby Johnson; and brother, Robert Larry Johnson.

Left to cherish Sarah's memories are her son, Chris Crawford, and wife Marie; brother, Ronnie Johnson, and wife Judy; sisters, Barbara Martin and husband, Pete, and Portia Whitener and husband, J.E; and 4 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC, 28052.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment to follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont, NC.
