Sarah Cook Hill

Sarah Cook Hill, 82, of Gastonia, passed away December 16, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born April 25, 1932 in Spartanburg County, SC, daughter of the late Joe Cook Jr. and Laura Elizabeth Phillips. Sarah was a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Bill Hill and wife, Elaine, John Hill and wife, Phyllis, Earl Hill and wife, Judy; daughter Sissy Arrowood and husband, Ben; brother, James Oliver Thomas Cook; grandchildren; Sharon Coates, Michelle Panther, Brian Stringfield, Mike Hill, Jason Adams, Jonathan Hill and Landon Hill; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Denell Hill; sisters, Catherine Adair, Betty Duffie and Frances Vermeulen. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Thursday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Roger Overton. Visitation will be 12:45 - 2 pm Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
