Sandra Redding Benton

Sandra "Sam" Redding Benton, 76, of Gastonia, passed away May 15, 2022, at Peak Resources in Cherryville.

She was born August 8, 1945, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Harley Redding and Virginia Hallman Redding.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm Friday, May 20, 2022, at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 South New Hope Road Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Johnny Yarboro

Sandra is survived by her husband of over 55 years, Charles Vernon Benton; sons, David Benton and wife Kim, Stephen Suttles; daughters, Sharmie Bright, Wendy Nichols; brother, Robert Redding Jr.; grandchildren, Danielle Bright Coates, Zachary Bright, Kara Benton Sepulveda, David Benton, Christopher Cline, Brett Cline, Olivia Nichols; great-grandchildren, Alijah Coates, Serena Sepulveda, and 13 others.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by sisters, Norma
Gale Redding, Leola Jane Cole; brothers, Sonny and Robert Redding; stepdaughter, Kimberly Benton Cline; granddaughter, Crystal Vickers.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
