Samuel "Sammy" Lamm, 65, of York, SC, passed away November 5, 2014 at Carolina's Medical Center, Charlotte. He was born July 8, 1949 in Moore County, NC, son of the late Vernon and Rebecca Lamm. Sammy Lamm was known best by his family and friends as generous, loyal and kind. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandpa. The things he loved most in life were his family, grandbabies, his dog Champ, hunting, fishing and missions. He was well respected in business and touched the lives of countless souls through his passion for missions. Sammy is survived by his wife, Roxanne Lamm; son, Robert Lamm and wife, Elizabeth; daughters Angela Harvell and husband, Todd, Amy Cartwright and husband, David; step-son, Wesley Wright; step-daughter, Lauren Strain and husband Colby, grandchildren Hannah, Aaron and Abby Harvell, Maggi and Emma Cartwright, Jake, Ava, Reece and Miles Lamm, and Colston Wright; sister, Verlinda McMillian and husband, Danny and his dog Champ. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Saturday at Greater Life Ministries, 3307 Filbert Hwy., Clover, SC, officiated by the Revs, Milton Smith and Tim Boan. The family will receive friends and family 6 - 8 pm Friday the night before at the church. Burial will be in Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to School of Christ - 2630 S. 11th Street, Beaumont, TX 77701. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
