Sam Paul Welch,76 of Shelby, passed away on May 11, 2021, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center in Shelby.

He was born May 21, 1944, in Lincoln County, son of the late James T. Welch and Flossie Reynolds Welch.

All services will be private.

Sam is survived by his daughter, Samantha Lane; former spouse, Anne Ramsey; brother, Roger Saunders; grandchild, Cayla Lane.

In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by sisters, Sylvia Saunders Houston, Barbara Holman and Marie Saunders; brother, Hubert Sanders.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
